what is a raid?

A raid is just another name for a bucket collection. Several times a year we head out to the streets, often in wacky and weird costume, with nothing but ourselves and a bucket and try to raise as much as we can from the public for a good cause. These exist both locally in our beloved Canterbury and further out with a trip to London in a Megaraid.

Why take part?

Raiding is our primary way of collecting money for the charities we care about. It’s such a simple way to get involved and make a difference, not to mention that it’s a great way to have fun and meet like-minded people!

How long do I have to stay for?

There’s no obligation to stay for the entire day, you can stay for as long as you want – any amount of time is appreciated!

How I sign up!

You can sign up for a raid or get more information on the next raid coming up by emailing kentragraids@gmail.com (you can do this by filling in the form), signing up to our Facebook events, or writing to our Facebook page directly.

What is a Megaraid?

Megaraids are the same as Canterbury Raids but on a much larger scale. Students young and old, from RAGs all over the country, converge in London for a day of collecting in the busy streets and bustling Tube Stations of the capital, raising incredible amounts of money. We all travel up together and accommodation is covered for the night before in a hostel, which is always a night to remember.
